Autumn Bagwell, Summer Exchange 2005

 

 

When I received the call that I had been selected to go to Germany on the Rotary Youth Exchange program I was overjoyed!  I had so many different emotions before leaving and I had no idea what to expect.  My trip could not have been better and I enjoyed every minute of it.  My exchange family was so wonderful to me and they treated me like their daughter.  We took several little trips to different cities and visited many sites of interest.  I attended school with my exchange sister Laura and got to experience first hand, life as a German teenager.  There were so many highlights of my trip, but my favorite was probably taking a hot air balloon ride with Laura's grandfather and sister.  It was so gorgeous and a once in a lifetime opportunity!  When we came home Laura stayed with me for 3 1/2 weeks.  We had so much fun and grew even closer.  I wouldn't trade our friendship for anything and I am so blessed to have met her. I strongly encourage everyone to go on the Rotary Youth Exchange!  There is nothing like it and I am so thankful I got to go!
